"We believe cognitive growth in preschool children is based upon concrete experiences. Exploring, discovering, describing, manipulating and interacting are the important work of a preschooler. At Goshen Friends we provide an environment that is rich in manipulative materials (art, sand and water play, woodworking, small and large construction, puzzles and games) as well as creative experiences (music, movement, field trips, experimenting, cooking, housekeeping, puppetry and outdoor apparatus) in which children engage at their own developmental level. Small classes and very low student-teacher ratios allow the teachers to tailor their curriculum to the needs of the class as well as to those of each child."
