Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Teacher-Led

From the Director:

Our goal at Sweet PEAS is to create a safe foundation where learning is fun, imagination flows and creativity is encouraged. Our classes will implement a program that encourages social and emotional growth in combination with physical and mental development. Our belief system that math skills can be learned through music, geography and history through drama, and fundamentals through art will be at the core of our program.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Sweet PEAS Kidzone offers a variety of curriculum to adapt for those who are ahead, as well as those who need additional help. Our ratio of 7 to 1 will be able to give your child the extra attention they need to excel. Our teachers are exceptionally well-trained, caring individuals, that look forward to engage, challenge, and create a fun learning environment for each individual. Each child is encouraged to develop problem solving skills, conflict resolution skills, to be a member of our preschool community and better prepared for their future academics in kindergarten as well as elementary school.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Sweet PEAS are in close contact with all parents. You will feel as if in a close net family. We offer daily written curriculum activities, weekly theme announcements, emails, open house events, recitals, and seasonal field trips.

Separation

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Small group sessions
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
  • Parents in classroom early on
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

We have handled each case on an individual basis as needed by both the parent or child. Some children need extra time for the parent to be in the classroom. Some parents are the ones that need the extra time to be with the child and assured that their child will be well taken care of. Some children need quick goodbyes and hugs, so that it does not prolong the separation. By treating each case individually, respect and genuine care for the family is created.
