General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Teacher-Led

From the Director:

Our pre-K is a developmentally appropriate approach to learning. The teacher instructs them in letters and sounds and in numbers and number sense. There are many activities used to complement and practice the instruction. The students do use worksheets, though limited.

In pre-K, the teacher is committed to challenging and encouraging each students. Children requiring additional attention are worked with on a needs-based process. Working with parents is very important.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

We are committed to partnering with parents to prepare their children for success by providing an excellent academic foundation. We strive for balance - mentally, spiritually and physically ("Love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all you strength and with all your mind." Luke 10:27).

A Typical Day

Pre-K - Half Day
- Learning centers

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

At the beginning of the school year, parents are encouraged to come to orientation in their child's classroom. Twice a year the teachers formally conference with parents. Each quarter, an academic assessment is sent home. Teachers communicate via email and phone and are available for conferencing. The school encourages communication.

Separation

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
