General Approach to Learning: Montessori

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"Our philosophy is based on that of Dr. Maria Montessori, a turn-of-the-century educator and child advocate. Dr. Montessori has said of her philosophy, "Our aim is not merely to make the child understand, and still less to force him to memorize, but so to touch his imagination as to enthuse him to his innermost core."
Montessori education teaches children to first comprehend abstract concepts in a concrete way, enabling them to fully understand that which is presented to them.
While learning the right answers may get your child through school, our goal at Great Mystery Montessori is to help him to become an independent creative adult which will open him to endless possibilities.
