"The goal of our teachers and staff is to provide a nurturing, loving and safe environment for each child. With parental support in our daily activities, the child's self-worth, self-confidence and self-esteem is nurtured. In addition self-expression, curiosity and the respect of self and others will be encouraged and stimulated. Such goals will be achieved through behavioral objectives which allow children to explore, experiment and play in activities directly related to daily life. Activities including, but not limited to, literature, cooking, math and letter manipulatives will contribute to each child's personal growth and development.
“When children become involved, they see; they think; they understand; they pursue.”
We believe that children learn by doing and need an opportunity to reach their fullest potential by examining their own interests and beliefs.
We believe that children need to develop self-confidence, positive self-esteem and a sense of belonging in order to achieve.
We believe that children should be respected and recognized for individual abilities, unique characteristics and unlimited potential, and, therefore, should be afforded opportunities to grow in these areas.
We believe that children need positive role models who will be sensitive to their basic needs and provide encouragement, motivation and opportunities to nurture intellect and creativity, as well as physical, emotional and social needs.
Often times curriculum developers can become so involved with rhetoric they begin to lose sight of the main focus: The student, the learner, the child.
