Day in the Life

General School Mission

The educational needs of your child will be delivered through comprehensive Christian preschool experiences. We believe
that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, given to man to provide guidance in all aspects of our lives; therefore, it is
the foundation of our philosophy, goals, conduct and teachings.

A Typical Day

We begin our day with snack at 9:15am. We then have our circle time, and center based teachings. The children experience learning by participating in sensory, art, science and nature, dramatic play, language art & math area, and manipulative centers. The children love outdoor time and go out twice a day. Lunch is served around noon and we have a quite time following nap time with snack served at 3:15. We have an outdoor time, followed by more center play and one to one teaching time with the children.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

We at JCA believe communciation is the key to building lasting relationships. We are always available to speak to parents and hold teacher parent conferences where your child's developmental checklist and progress is shared. We have programs to build fellowship among families and staff, such as our Christimas program and Silly song night. We also celebrate fun holiday events and birthdays by having parties where parents are involved. We also work closely with the Delaware Health Department and just completed our Healthy Children Healthy Weights program. We also work with Action for children and are contracted with JFS.

Handling Separation: From the Director

We found here at JCA that it is normally harder on the parent to leave, then on the child. And that most of the time the child is only upset for a few minutes at most. We have found that usually one and half to two weeks is a normall adjusment period for parents and children. The children are loved and played with one on one until they are ready to join their friends. And comforted in being told "Mommy/Daddy love you bunches and had to go to work but they'll be back soon after you play and learn with your friends."
