Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

We send home a monthly calendar which informs parents of the themes and concepts which will be covered that month. A monthly newsletter is sent from the director with important dates and concerns. We schedule conference days in the fall and the spring to discuss the child's progress. We send home many flyers with opportunities for childrens' extracurricular activities and community activities for families.

Parents Say They are Encouraged to:

  • Fundraise
  • Are able to visit the school anytime we want
  • Volunteer in the classroom
  • Receive newsletters

Modes of Communication

  • Notes
  • Phone Calls
  • Voice Mail
  • Special Meetings
  • Two or More Regular Conferences
  • Drop-Off
  • Pick-Up
  • Regular newsletter/printed updates circulated to the whole school

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Small group sessions
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

We have 2 days of "open house" with the parents, then a day with only half the class present before we begin our regular schedule. When we do begin regular schedule, we encourage the parents to say goodbye to the child in the lobby, the teachers then accompany the children to the classrooms
