Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"At Williamson Cooperative Nursery School, we believe that children should be taught in a warm, loving environment where the child's self esteem and social skills are developed first, in order to best prepare the child for a lifetime of learning. We strive to ensure that the children who attend WCNS experience and develop feelings of preparedness, self worth and the ability to interact appropriately in social situations.
Our teacher has worked directly with the Kindergarten Grade Level Committee in the Williamson Central School District to ensure that the skills this committee deems necessary for success in school are those most stressed at this level. She incorporates into her curriculum these skills. The District has repeatedly emphasized self esteem and social behavior to be of the most importance in laying the foundation for a child's future success in school. At WCNS, we believe that our program's emphasis on these skills will help our children not only in school, but in all of their future endeavors."
