Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

The Primary Care giver's role is to develop a close relationship with the child and provide most of his/her daily care. The Primary Caregiver will also develop a relationship with the family and exchange daily information about the child, his/her day, care and his/her development. The Primary Caregiver will care for this child until he/she is three when he/she will transition into the preschool program. Most day care programs have children change providers at an arbitrary date of 18 month.

There will also be parent teacher meetings, parent education classes, and ongoing access to trainings.

Separation

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
  • Parents in classroom early on

Handling Separation: From the Director

Parent and teacher will develop an individual plan to address a child's separation concerns. Each day the child will be given to the same adult who will be responsible for this child's transitions throughout the day.
