Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

The Woodbury Preschool at Strong National Museum of Play ® uses the power of play to nurture each child's learning, creativity, and self-discovery. The preschool embraces the Reggio Emilia approach of respecting each child's unique way of learning, and the curriculum builds on the interests of the children. Children, parents, and teachers are considered learning partners.

A Typical Day

Guided by teachers who facilitate their explorations, students delve deeply into topics that fascinate and stimulate learning. Small and large group activities involve art, music, cooperative games, movement, pre-reading, math, and other-age appropriate experiences. Children also explore the engaging and dynamic exhibits in the museum.
