Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Teachers identify strengths and weaknesses and work closely with students on an individual basis when necessary.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

We believe preschool should be fun, spontaneous, adventurous and challenging; a home away from home where children’s curiosity, strengths and values are nurtured. WSCP stresses cooperation, responsibility and independence while providing opportunities for children to gain self-confidence and self-assurance.

A Typical Day

Each day includes: active play in our well equipped gym, or the outdoor playground, free choice in the classroom, snack, group projects and quiet time for reading.

  • Receive newsletters

Separation is Handled through:

  • Small group sessions
  • Parents in classroom early on
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

We have a two week phasing in period during which parents are encouraged to remain in the classroom to reassure their children.
