School Philosophy

From the Director:

"Caedmon is a Modified Montessori school. Our program develops a love for learning by sustaining the natural motivation with which all children learn. Caedmon is ethnically, racially, culturally, economically, and intellectually diversity is a cornerstone of our philosophy. Caedmon is a school with a large international population. 25% of our enrollment is from as many as 25 different countries. General School Mission

"Caedmon is a unique education. Quite simply, we do what is good for children. Caedmon is located on a quiet, residential street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Caedmon is an ongoing school, nursery through 5th grades. Our program combines high academic standards, an emphasis on the arts, and a strong focus on social development. Caedmon is deliberately small in size. Our enrollment is 200 children between 2 and 10 years. The average class size is 16 children with two teachers." (SOURCE:
