Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

We strive to recognize each child's unique abilities and contributions with individual attention and support given to each child to realize their top potential. We are sensitive to both developmentally and individually appropriate needs and foster respect for individual as well as group needs.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Our philosophy is to provide a warm, nurturing and exciting learning environment that fosters positive self esteem and focuses on the development of the whole child - socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Our low 4:1 child to teacher ratio uniquely allows us to be more caring and responsive to the individual needs of each child and bridge the child's transition from home and 'mommy & me' classses to independence in their social and learning experiences.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

We regularly email our families updating them with recent classroom snapshots and recent and upcoming activities and field trips. We speak daily with parents in the morning when the child arrives at school and at pickup in the afternoon about the child's day. We also have several occasions during the year for our families to get together (holiday and birthday parties, potluck dinner and end of year picnic) which provide relaxed opportunities for parents and the teachers to share their thoughts. Parents may also phone or email the school at any time. At the end of the year, we provide parents with a progress report summarizing their child's social, emotional, intellectual and physical development over the year and indicate future developmental goals.
