General School Mission

Buckle My Shoe's goal is to provide high quality childcare. Each individual child's cognitive, physical, emotional, and social growth is supported by high staff/child ratio. Buckle My Shoe's innovaative program empowers each child to build self-esteem and confidence in their ongoing development.

"Learning through play and exploration is encouraged within the framework of the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. Children are active learners, and are given unlimited opportunities to explore and problem solve in their daily work and play. Curriculum topics and projects emerge from the interests of the children. Teachers carefully listen, observe, and document children's work and growth." Extracted from

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

"Parents play an integral role at Buckle My Shoe. Our 'open-door' policy encourages parents to participate in their child's early education. We strive to create mutual respect between parents and staff-a partnership for the benefit of the child. Daily communication is achieved with parents in the Infant/Toddler program via daily log sheets. Weekly written correspondence from staff to parents of Pre-Schoolers inform parents of the activities going on in their child's classroom." Extracted from
