"The philosophy of ENDICOTT FIRST PRESBYTERIAN NURSERY SCHOOL is based on the theory that there is a sequence to the child's growth, that development occurs in a series of steps (with earlier steps preparing for and providing the base for later steps) and that this sequence is always in the direction of simple to complex and concrete to abstract.
The goals of the school are to provide a developmentally appropriate preschool education program for three to five year olds and to provide opportunities for parent involvement. Through the use of open-ended materials and a wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities from which to choose, the objectives for each child are to encourage exploration and learning through discovery, creativity, language development, development of social skills and self-confidence, and opportunities to practice and develop large and fine motor skills. A further goal of the school is to identify, refer and serve children with special needs and to provide support for their parents.
