Gold Material Montessori School is a unique school where the capabilities of the Montessori method in the development of child's intelligence are implemented in the most effective way. We are unique because we are modern! To keep up with the times we merged the Montessori Method with all modern achievements of preschool education. Gold Material Montessori School focuses solely on pre-school education and here we are objectively better. We are proud that almost 100% of our graduates successfully pass the tests for the Gifted And Talented program and earn the right to study in the best schools in New York. We are unique, because we have made our school available in every way! Our service is affordable to every family, and our modes of attendance are particularly convenient for working parents.

General Approach to Learning: Montessori

From the Director:

The mission of Gold Material Montessori School is to guide the intellectual and character development of each child along a path towards his full and unknown potential. We strive to cultivate compassion and respect, independence and belonging, and freedom and self-discipline, in rich academic and social environments that are designed for each plane of development and honor the complementary needs of the individual and the group. We value an educational setting that is inclusive and recognizes the authentic nature of the child and nurtures a reverence for the organic order of the universe.

Handling Separation: From the Director

Montessori Approach
The Montessori method identifies "sensitive periods" which are specific stages in a child's development when he or she is extremely attuned to specific kinds of information. The Montessori teacher watches for these sensitive periods and then encourages this natural appetite for knowledge by offering age-appropriate materials to explore at the child's peak of interest.

There are four main subject areas in our preschool/kindergarten classrooms that children explore during the Montessori Day:
Language, the path to communication and reading
Math, by which children compute and think mathematically
Sensorial Work, in which the child is shown the powers of his senses
Practical Life, which teaches the child to be independent and confident in his culture.

Each classroom also has Science, Geography, Botany, Music, and Art areas. The beautiful Montessori teaching equipment allows children to explore each subject at their own speed and style.

Both the East Village and Kips Bay Branches that located in New York City offer Montessori preschool and Kindergarten programs.
