"Childhood is a crucial time of development. Although learning is a lifelong process, studies in child development reveal that the foundation of learning and the formation of attitudes occurs in early childhood. Young children are in the process of developing an awareness of themselves, others, the world around them, and most importantly, their loving God. To accomplish these goals of discovery and growth, we have a program that actively involves the child and cultivates a child's natural desire to learn and explore through a developmentally appropriate curriculum and a wide range of activities including art, music and movement, literature, language, math, and science experiences, and field trips.
Noah's Ark Preschool, at Trinity Christian Church, offers a program that is age appropriate, yet responsive to the varied needs, interests, and abilities of each child. Our goals in planned learning experiences include:
The developing of social skills, shown in positive interaction, cooperation, and increased awareness of the feelings, interests, and need of others.
The expanding of thought processes by participating in experiences that promote problem solving, classifying, planning and evaluating.
The developing of communication skills, language and literacy.
The fostering of self expression and creativity though music, art, and dramatic play.
The developing of large muscle control through movement games and activities, use of gym equipment, and outdoor play.
The developing of small muscle control through use of manipulatives and fine motor activities.
The developing of science and math concepts, such as measuring, sorting and counting, one to correspondence, graphing, and comparing.
A fostering of self-worth based upon the knowledge of being God's handiwork, uniquely made for a purpose, and through an awareness of his great love.
