General School Mission

"philosophy since 1967. Celebrating its 40th anniversary of providing quality, comprehensive services to over 8,800 low-income children and their families, we have helped to bridge the gap between aspirations and accomplishments. Our mission is fulfilled utilizing a range of programs that assist and help protect the rights of children and their families.
The agency provides two key programs. The Head Start program serves 248+ low-income families and targets pockets of poverty in Mercer County exclusive of the city of Trenton. The Mercer Child Care Center (MCCC) is a fee based program accredited by the National Association for Education of Young Children (N.A.E.Y.C.) serving 68+ families in the Ewing, Lawrence and Trenton areas.
Our mission is to cultivate the healthy development of low-income children and their families through providing a wide range of services to include Education, Nutrition, Health/Mental Health, Parent Involvement, Transportation, Social Services and Special Services to children with special needs. Our mission is fulfilled utilizing a range of programs that assist and help protect the rights of children and their families. The five Head Start centers operate full day, and are closed during the month of August for vacation.
The Mercer County Head Start Child Development Program, Incorporated is committed to cultivating the healthy development of pre-school children and their families. Our mission is fulfilled utilizing a range of programs that assist and help protect the rights of these children and their families.
