Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Communication with parents is open, ongoing and encouraged. The executive director and education director are available daily to talk with parents, as are teachers.
We have a back-to-school night for parents and twice yearly parent-teacher conferences. Our teachers compile portfolios of the children, which include the children's projects, teachers' observations and photographs.
We provide information to parents through monthly newsletters and ongoing communication of community programs and services as well as parent education topics.

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
  • Parents in classroom early on
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

Directors, teachers and the family work together to develop a plan that meets the needs of the individual child.
