"We are a Catholic School established in 1850, staffed by the Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth and a certified lay faculty. Assumption School is the second oldest Catholic School in the Paterson Diocese.
Assumption School's primary concern is to spread the Gospel message of Jesus Christ to all students entrusted to us. These children will be the new messengers of Christ who will continue to bring the Gospel message to those they meet. Assumption School is, in the Catholic tradition, in existence for the development of the holistic child so that each baptized person may have a place as a Christian in the Church as well as in the global community. Our tradition embraces God, family and attaining the realization of our philosophy.
We strive to bring to our students the knowledge that they are individually gifted by God and that is is incumbent upon them to realize these gifts. Through nurturing by the administration, faculty, clergy and family, each child is encouraged to achieve the optimum of his/her potential.
We are aware of the changing world in which our children will journey. In light of this, we continually evaluate our curriculum to meet the demands of the future. In so doing, we endeavor to help our students face the academic challenges which will be placed upon them in their travels."
