Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

At Neve Shalom Nursery School, we value our highly qualified teaching staff. Our program is a reflection of their dedication and many years of teaching in the field of early childhood. Our teaching staff assesses each child and creates lesson plans that include and extend the subject matter so as to ensure the progress of each individual student.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

At Neve Shalom Nursery School, our educational philosophy is that young children learn through play and active exploration with their environment. Children should be active participants in the classroom and should also be actively engaged in the learning process. They should have the opportunity to make their own choices about learning several times throughout the day, which motivates children to learn. Each child will feel respected and valued, and given opportunities to develop self-sufficiency and independence. Each parent would become an integral part of the nursery school and one whose ideas and needs would help to shape our program and it's goals.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

We pride ourselves on our ongoing communication efforts through face-to-face conversations at drop off and pick up, weekly and monthly class newsletters, emails, telephone conversations, monthly E-Newsletters, Parent Orientation meeting at the start of the school year, and bi-annual parent/teacher conferences.

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

Our teachers are wonderful at helping both children and parents with separation anxiety issues. We strive to nurture both you and your child through those first few days and weeks of school to enable everyone to feel safe and secure in the classroom environment.
