Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Because we allow for a low teacher/student ratio the teachers have the ability to work with the students on more of an individual basis. Having both Montessori and Traditional teaching experience, the Director works very closely with the teachers and has the experience of re-directing the lessons to meet a child's needs if he/she is not understanding the lessons.
We pride ourselves on challenging students without overwhelming the students. If a student does fall behind, extra efforts are made, tuturing sessions and creating kinesthetic lessons are done for that student. Our goal is to allow your child to succeed and we put all efforts in seeing that task accomplished.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Our primary concern is your child's needs. With guidance, the teacher encourages the children to progress and grow at their own rate. As your child participates in both teacher directed and structured free play activities, there is a continual observation of his/her skills, an his/her readiness for new skills.OUr daily activities are based on each child's developmental needs. They will be allowed the freedom of movement and choice to promote independence and self-growth for a positive educational experience.

A Typical Day

Full time students may pick up and drop off between the hours of 7 am - 6 pm. You child may eat breakfast from 7-9. Throughout the day the students will be engaged in both small and large group activities, your child will be permitted to work in the working stations all through the day. There is story time, show n tell, music class, gymnastics and fitness activities are available to the students. During lessons the students will be broken down developmentally not by age. The students will work on a very low student/teacher ratio to ensure the comprehension of the activity.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Progress reports are given by annually. Parent conferences are available all through the year. Each student is given a daily report to inform the parents of his/her day. Within this report it will inform you of your child's lessons learned, activities played with, lunch eaten, nap time information and general comments from the teacher. The Director and teachers keep the parents informed on a constant basis. Newsletters are also distributed monthly.

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation

Handling Separation: From the Director

The parents have the ability to look into the classrooms at anytime without the child seeing them. If a child is upset about his/her parent leaving we comfort that child, redirect the child toward stimulating materials. We will provided one on one attention with that child until that child feels comfortable. We will then introduce the child to another student and play with them until they feel comfortable. When they do the teacher will back away allowing the children to play together.

If we encounter a problem where a child simply does not calm down (and we have never had that experience), the Director will notify the parents immediately.
