Sand Hills Preschool teaches with the understanding of developmental levels, approaching the children where they are, not where we want them to be. Using a thematic curriculum, our goal is to create a learning environment that is - challenging - promotes a joy of learning - encourages a sense of belonging - increases curiosity and imagination - promotes positive self-esteem - increases language development - enhances fine & gross motor development - provides spiritual development

Children learn in many ways, in both structural activities and through play. 9:00 - 9:45 Free Play/Center time
9:45-9:55 Clean Up
9:55 - 10:15 Circle/Job Time
10:15 - 10:30 - Small Group/Bathroom Time
10:30 - 10:45 - Snack Time
10:45 - 11:15 - Outside Play
11:15 - 11:30 - Story time/Music

We provide two visit days to prepare the children and parents for the first day of school. Our first visit day is in May. The parent and child come and spend some time in the child's classroom, getting acquainted with the teaching staff and other families. The second visit day is right before the first day of school. The parent and child come together for a mini-preschool day. the parents leave for the last 20 minutes to receive some orientation information while the children remain in their classrooms. This provides a mini-separation experience for the children and the parents.
