Separation

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Small group sessions
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

We provide two visit days to prepare the children and parents for the first day of school. Our first visit day is in May. The parent and child come and spend some time in the child's classroom, getting acquainted with the teaching staff and other families. The second visit day is right before the first day of school. The parent and child come together for a mini-preschool day. the parents leave for the last 20 minutes to receive some orientation information while the children remain in their classrooms. This provides a mini-separation experience for the children and the parents.
