"The community of St. Francis of Assisi School, a diverse blending of unique individuals, is united as one body in Jesus Christ. As disciples of Jesus, all members of this community are compelled to embrace each other in His name. Our everyday individual and communal existence is the manifestation of "The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." This existence is reflective of the teaching of the Word and our sharing of personal faith developmeht. Prayer is an integral part of the community of St. Francis of Assisi. We truly follow the fundamental belief that we are all called to serve as Jesus did.
We, at St. Francis of Assisi School, believe it is our resoponsibility to teach the whole child. We also believe in the unique individual differences of each student with his or her own personal needs, strengths and weaknesses. It is incumbent to create an atmosphere whereby all students' individual intellectual needs are identified and addressed. In doing so, it is our hope that the students will achieve academic success.
The development of the spiritual life of the student is the primary concern of the community of St. Francis of Assisi School. It is essential that our students live the Gospel message that they are taught. It is our hope that our students take on the qualities of Jesus Christ - honesty, acceptance, service and compassion. It is our responsibility to foster in each student a sense of self-awareness and self-worth. Positive self-image will help the students interact responsibly and respectfully with others. It is our hope that these personal attributes coupled with Christian values will allow the students to live harmoniously.
We, as faculty, see the need to equip our students with the necessary tools and strategies that will allow them to responsibly function in all areas of our society. It is of the utmost importance thast each student understands the need for authority and is respectful of its role in a benevolent society. We hope to generate an atmosphere whereby the students work cooperatively, are accepting of one another and demonstrate qualities of compassion, understanding and respect.
We believe that open communication and a working relationship of all faculty, students and parents are vital. The student-teacher relationship at St. Francis of Assisi School is founded on the Christian principles of mutual respect and cooperation. The relationship of the teachers is based on common concern for the students. This relationship we deem is one of professional and personal interaction. The teacher-parent relationship is focused on what is in the best interest of the student.
This philosophy is reflective of whom we are at St. Francis of Assisi School. It is our mission to be the witnesses of the Gospel message
