The Preschool Center is a planned environment for young children three to five years of age. Located on the first floor of Hackensack Christian Schools, you will find classrooms designed to invite children to learn. Children may choose from a variety of developmentally appropriate activities in learning centers. Independence is encouraged and fostered by providing materials where the children can easily reach them on low shelves. Our well equipped facility offers the young child extensive learning opportunities both indoors and outdoors. The Center is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Human Services.

Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Teacher-Led

From the Director:

Our curriculum emphasizes developing thinking skills. Children are encouraged to question, explore, and discover information. They have the opportunity to experience learning via creative arts, music, language, arts, science activities, sand, water, dramatic play, large and small motor activities. Our program seeks to provide a balance between child and teacher initiated learning times.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Our Preschool Center is seeking to meet the needs of young children three to five years of age. Preschool is an important first step in a child's school experience. Because the school is an extension of the home, it focuses on a child's need for love, understanding, discipline, companionship, leadership, and most of all, faith in God and His Word.
