General School Mission

"Yeshivat Noam was founded on the basis of six guiding principles: the centrality of the child, the love of Torah, the importance of Derekh Eretz, commitment to Eretz Yisrael and Ivrit B'ivrit, academic excellence and parental involvement. We are a warm, embracing community of educators, parents and children. We invite you to learn more about our school and what Yeshivat Noam is all about.
------------------------------
Yeshivat Noam has at the core of its foundation 6 guiding principles, which directly impact all aspects of the school's development :
Centrality of the Child
Love of Torah
Commitment to Eretz Yisrael and Ivrit B'ivrit
Importance of Derech Eretz
Academic Excellence
Parental Involvement
Centrality of the Child
The pressures and pace of modern Jewish education often have us focus on productivity alone. A child's creativity, uniqueness and happiness can often take a back seat in our fast paced world. It is the mission of Yeshivat Noam to develop and nurture children's self esteem. We treat children with the respect they deserve. We take the time to listen to children before making decisions and, when they are made, ensure they are explained. We notice when a child misbehaves but are equally aware of behaviors that should be recognized and encouraged. We focus on the positive and build inner confidence and pride.
Love of Torah
There is nothing more important to the future development of Am Yisrael than instilling a love of Hashem and his Torah. The key to doing this is through the establishment of positive experiences at an early age with the study of Torah and performance of Mitzvot. Pivotal to the accomplishment of this goal is the selection of teachers who love and respect children, have the important padagogic skills, are optimistic and cheerful, and are open to parental involvement.
Commitment to Eretz Yisrael & Ivrit B'ivrit
Yeshivat Noam fosters a strong bond with the State of Israel and instills a deep love of our land. We place a primary emphasis on Hebrew beginning in our Early Childhood Department and on Ivrit B'ivrit learning throughout all the grades.
Importance of Derech Eretz
Many are familiar with the famous quote from Pirkei Avot "Derech Eretz Kadma L'Torah." We actively teach children the fundamentals of this precept. Yeshivat Noam focuses on "derech eretz" as an independent but integral part of the academic curriculum.
Academic Excellence
We consistently aim to achieve the highest academic standards. Yet, we recognize that each child is unique. Individual strengths must be accentuated while areas requiring further development need to be addressed sensitively.
Parental Involvement
The effective education of each child is achieved through a partnership between Yeshivat Noam and the child's parents. We place a very high value on the involvement of parents in their children's education, development and growth. We listen and respond to all parents and expect that they will join in the formal and informal education of their children.
