Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Teacher-Led

From the Director:

We feel it's very important for a child to be able to function in a classroom setting. During project time the children play until their name is called to come and complete one of 3-4 projects. Our year starts in Sept. and the majority of our students are functioning independently in the classroom by October & November.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Individual instruction is very important for all children. Praise and encouragement help build self esteem for the outgoing child as well as the shy one. If I feel that a child is developmentally behind or perhaps has a problem with speech I will encourage the parents to consult with the Early Childhood Program for evaluation. Every child is different and will learn at a different pace and as a teacher I understand how important it is to pick-up on those differences.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

We believe that a positive preschool experience promotes a smooth transition into kindergarten. We prepare our students socially and academically for kindergarten.

A Typical Day

We start our day with freeplay and then we put toys away and it's music time. Then the children will gather around the table for teacher demonstrations of the projects for the day. We have no less than 3 teachers for each class. After our projects are completed it's library time and or outside play (weather permitting). Snack time is next and then it's dismissal time. All supplies and snacks are provided by the school
