From the Director:

Connections Preschool will be using the Wee Learn Curriculum as we teach our preschoolers. This curriculum is developed around themes that provide opportunities for children to learn about God's world and how to live in it. The themes are designed to help lay a foundation for understanding God, Jesus, the Bible, the church, self, community and the world. Physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual development are equal in importance. Each unit in this curriculum provides a range of activities in a variety of learning centers and group times which are designed to meet the development needs of the preschool child. The Wee Learn Curriculum also provides activities in each unity to help each child develop language, reading, writing, and math skills appropriate to his or her stage of development. These are a few of the units suggested in our curriculum: I AM SPECIAL MY FAVORITE THINGS WORK AND PLAY TOGETHER DISCOVERING FALL INSECTS AND SPIDERS WAYS PROPLE TRAVEL WE THANK GOD TAKING CARE OF MY BODY SENSATIONAL SENSES TAKING CARE OF MY WORLD GOD'S WINTER GIFTS THE AMAZING OUTDOORS ALL ABOUT OTHERS

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

The staff at Connections Preschool is made up of teacher who all have college degrees and many years of experience working with children.

The assistants all have high school degrees, and some are college graduates, with lots of experience working with children.

Our staff each go through a security screening before being hired. Six of our ten staff members are CPR certified. Our staff attend workshops throughout the year to enhance what they already know about preschoolers. The staff at Connections Preschool care deeply for preschoolers and their families, and are dedicated to providing a loving Christian atmosphere for preschoolers that will help them learn and grow!

Day in the Life

General School Mission

The purpose of Connections Preschool is to extend the ministry of Forest Hills Baptist Church by nurturing, equipping, and connecting the children entrusted to us and their families to Christ.

In a warm, Christian based, child centered environment, we focus on the growth and development of each child by providing age appropriate activities. We design our program to engage each child in the learning process by doing what he knows and loves: play.

It is through play that a child explores the beauty of God's world while gaining knowledge and building self confidence. Play is the springboard for future development of academic skills such as reading, writing and math.

It is our goal to love and nurture each child while helping him discover his own unique identity in Christ.

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Each class receives an update letter to families detailing the activities and units of study. The director also sends out a monthly school-wide letter.

The Connections Preschool blog and an up and coming website are other tools used to communicate with parents. On these two sites we would include pictures of the daily life of our school and special activities. We use pictures that teachers and the director take at the school on the blog and website, so we ask parental permission to use pictures that may include children. We will not use children's names on the sites. We respect parents wishes and will not use any pictures if you do not allow us to.
