Asbury United Methodist Church

We offer a transitional kindergarten for student who are 5 on or before August 31 but who need an additional year prior to entering a full day kindergarten program. The curriculum is a traditional kindergarten curriculum with focus on age and developmentally appropriate materials and topics.

We have many resources that are available to our school through Community Partnerships, Wake County Preschool Services, and Project Enlightenment. If a child is already diagnosed when entering our program the staff works with their special area teachers to create a smooth transition from home to school. We participate in IEP meetings when necessary and welcome the student's special area teacher to come and visit their student in a classroom setting. Parents and teacher communicate on an as needed basis about the child's progress as well as having formal conferences twice a year for all students regardless of need.
