From the Director:

Amity Weekday Preschool is one of the oldest preschool programs in the Triad, serving the Charlotte, NC community since 1962. Our preschool is part of the Christian Education Ministry of Amity Presbyterian Church. We’ve made an impact on thousands of families and individuals over the years. Our commitment to teach, lead and help parents in bringing up children with a strong moral background has proven effective as our dedicated teachers show their loyal commitment to the same ideals. Our staff is focused on teaching academics, social, moral, and spiritual truths. They are committed to your children, this community and sharing Christ’s love.

General School Mission

Amity Weekday Preschool is a part of the Christian Education Ministry of Amity Presbyterian Church. It is our mission to reach out to the community by providing quality care for children in a loving Christian envioronment. We recognize each child as a gift from God with his or her own special needs.

A Typical Day

Our days are very structured. Here is a typical day:
9:00 - 10:00am Arrival - Manipulative play time, classroom play
10:00 - Clean up & Snack
10:30 - Circle time or table time
10:45 - 11:45 - Outside play time or Rainy Day Room Time,
12:00 - Lunch
12:30 - Outside play or Rainy Day Room

Home-School Connection: From the Director

We communitcate with you daily about your child. When you drop off or pick up we will let you know concerns, or accomplishments. The lines of communication between teacher and parent are always open as well as a direct connection to the director.

Handling Separation: From the Director

Separation is a very normal part of our day. We want you as the parent to feel comfortable, but we want the children to know we are here for them. We make the child feel secure and loved. We work daily with the child and parents in overcoming this obstacle.
