"Samuel school believes in offering children plenty of freedom to explore their own interests from group play,to crafts, to make believes,to quiet time with books. At all of the preschool levels a large portion of each morning includes as open play time. Although the children may choose their own activities,within this"unstructures" play a very important underlying objectives is being targeteed. During open play time,we focus on helping the children learn the important social skills that they will use throughout their lives:taking turns,sharing,talking things over,expressing emotions,resolving conflicts,developing friendships. These are the lessons stressed at samuel. To achieve that end ,teachers intervene,not interfere,and help the children learn to work out their own solutions."
