"Tyke Town applies the concept of developmentally appropriate practice through age and individual appropriateness. Our center provides age specific classrooms to encourage growth and change of each developmental state. Students appreciate this peer-based environment in which they can feel comfortable to learn and grow. Our programs include Infants, Toddlers, Preschoolers, Kindergartners and School-age children.
Positive development of the child's image of self is of prime importance in our program. We feel this is provided through a large variety of activities and experiences to enable the child to grow and to learn as a unique person. At Tyke Town, we see the whole developmental process of each child as imperative and strive to provide that for our students.
We agree that it is essential for parents and family of the child to be seen as the primary provider and that the balance of our child care is a supplemental development service. Our caregivers strive to provide a prepared classroom environment enriched with learning opportunities. They work to create a comfortable, calm, and positive place for students that can be a “home away from home experience.
