Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Our teachers see the children as individual learners, assess their developmental progress on a regular basis, making a concentrated effort to offer children activities tailored to their development and interests.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

SPCC teachers are experienced professionals passionate about the field of early childhood education. Teachers design and implement curriculum infused with art in order to help build confident learners through self-discovery, develop social/emotional skills through the abstract thinking processes stimulated during arts intensive projects. Our teachers also value early literacy, exposure to music, and foreign languages as integral components to curriculum.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Parent partnerships are crucial to our learning environment. SPCC has a Parent Advisory Committee that meets quarterly and is open to all parents. We hold many family events at the center in order to foster a sense of community at the center. Conferences are also offered twice yearly or more frequent if desired. We are proactive at seeking out resources for parents and children whenever needed.

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school

Handling Separation: From the Director

We work with the children individually to help them through separation issues. Parents are welcome to visit whenever they choose, call teachers on the phone or contact all teachers and administration via email.
