Day in the Life

General School Mission

House of Hope Preschool emphasizes the development of the whole child - placing equal importance on the social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and physical growth of each individual child.

A Typical Day

Arrival/Welcome- Welcome songs and greeting time)

Free Play- Child initiated, child diredted teacher supported play

Art Activity- Projects that reinforce the curriculum and are based on the process no the product

Group Time- Stries, Songs, Games

Snack- A healty snack with time to promote table manners and encourage conversation

Quiet Time- Relaxing time with music

Gym Time- Gross motor development

Show and Tell- An opportunity for verbal expression

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Daily bulletin boards are outside each class that lists the project, book read, etc. for the day
Classroom and School newsletters are sent home once a month
2 parent-teacher conferences each year follow a written progress report
Each class has an open house sometime during the year/


Separation is Handled through:

  • Small group sessions
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

Each class is divided in half the first week of school.
The first day the children come with their parent for 1/2 hour with half the class.
The second day the children stay for 1 hour with the same 1/2 the class and the parent leaves as soon as they are comfortable.
The third day the class is joined together and again the parent leaves as soon as they are comfrotable.
