"Help each child understand that they are a special and unique person and that they have been created by and are loved by God and Jesus.
Maintain an atmosphere of love and respect for all.
Maintain an environment that acknowledges that we all make mistakes and that mistakes are easily forgiven so no one needs to fear failure.
Create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where children are happy and secure to work and play.
Maintain a program realizing that a preschool is a miniature society, where children learn the art of cooperative living. The children must be free to express themselves. At our school, we make a strong point of letting the children learn through doing.
Maintain at all times the physical well-being of the child--food, rest, sunshine, fresh air, daily safety inspection, cleanliness, etc.
Provide good materials for manipulative and imaginative play indoors and outdoors.
Select stories, songs, and records within the needs and interests of the group.
Provide for play out of doors with larger activity, thus keeping a good balance between active and quiet play.
Expose the wonders of nature to the child through indoor planting, feeding the birds, raking the leaves, shoveling snow and exploring nature themes at the nature center.
Maintain day by day contact with parents which gives us an opportunity to share with them their everyday problems of child rearing and their subsequent joys over happy adjustments.
Bring the cause of preschool before as many people as possible in our school, church, and home contacts for we know, as more and more such contacts are established, the time will soon come when every child will have the opportunity to live, learn, and grow in a preschool. "
