Day in the Life

General School Mission

Little Kelli's Playhouse believes that every child is unique and special. We are a play-based program that focuses teaching and learning through literature, music and art. We believe that children learn best through natural consequences, curiosity and experiences. We believe process over product, meaning the process of the action is more important than how the product looks. We have designed activities to provide for a childs mind, body and soul. Experimentation, creativity, and discovery are all encouraged in a safe and healthy environment.

Our program also recognizes that each child has individual needs and has the right to grow and develop at his or her own rate. We strive to meet these needs of each individual child. Whenever possible, we will try to individualize the childcare program to meet the needs of each child or family.

Multi-aged programs offer both cognitive and social growth. In this program, your child will begin to learn and understand the basic concepts that will help your child develop through his or her life. In this type of program, children can learn and develop from each other.

We encourage the children to develop independence by allowing them to do things for themselves. By developing self-helping and self-coping skills, the children learn to develop skills needed throughout life.

The children will also gain awareness of other people?s feelings and begin to understand how their actions affect others. The children will also learn to respect other people?s possessions and work. Children will be encouraged to resolve their own conflicts with each other by talking through their feelings and finding their own solutions.

12:30 pm - 2:45 pm Rest & Quiet Time
2:45 pm - 3:00 pm Healthy Snack
3:00 pm - 3:30 pm Planned Activity Time
3:30 pm - 4:00 pm Outside (Weather Permitting) & Large Motor
4:00 pm - 4:45 pm Free Play
4:45 pm - 5:15 pm Dinner

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

We have open communication with our families. Parents are emailed or contacted by phone with program information or concerns we have have. Yearly parent-teachers conferences are also held at our families convenience.


Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Small group sessions
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
  • Parents in classroom early on
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

Separation anxiety can be a difficult for both parents and child. We work with our families to help overcome this sometimes difficult situation. Each Situation is tailored to meet the needs of each family.
