Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Each child is given individual time with teachers on a daily basis. We observe and document where children are with the Maine Early Learning Guidelines to keep us aware of where each child is in their development and plan accordingly.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Our family child care program is based on the child's interest and their play. Our curriculum is based on the Creative Curriculum.

A Typical Day

We have a daily 'routine' that we follow each day. It is what we call a 'relaxed routine'. Children come at different times and may be on different schedules. Some have had breakfast and are ready to get to work playing and some come hungry ready for breakfast. The morning is made up of stories, individual and group activities that the children can choose to be a part of or not. We play outside everyday, weather permitting. After lunch we have a rest/nap time. The infants/toddlers may be on their own schedule that is very different than this. During the summer, we may move all of our activities outside to enjoy the weather. The afternoon is more play/activities that interests the child. We have children here for full/part-time positions.
