Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"Childhood Hours with almost 31 years of experience, is now nurturing the children and even the grandchildren of some of our former preschoolers! During these three decades of caring for and teaching the youngest people in our community much has changed in our world and at our Center. Industries have come and gone; technology has transformed the way we all do business; and curriculums are constantly updated to reflect the ever-changing environment we live in. But through all these changes, the constants remain the same; our children are nurtured by a dedicated staff; taught by caring professionals; and protected by the strictest requirements for service quality."

A Typical Day

"Typical day at Daycare:
Good Morning Period 6:00-9:00am
Nursery School Program 9:00-11:30am
At this time, our preschoolers have naptime and or rest time depending on the wishes of their parents. We do prefer that all Nursery School children take an afternoon nap. We have cots and blankets for the children, but if you would like to send in a sleeping bag to put on their cots that is fine. Also the children love to sleep with stuffed animals from home, however, we do have a variety of stuffed animals at the center if you would rather not send one in.
At this time, our school age children are allowed to stay up unless their parents want them to have a rest time. After a nice lunch time the children are eager to participate in different activities. The Daycare teachers lead the children in: outdoor play, arts and crafts, cooking fun, basis gymnastic fun, playroom activities, and quiet room activities.
3:00 Snack time for all children.
4:15-5:30 This period comes at the end of the day and our goal is to have self-paced and relaxed atmosphere. At this time, we do permit a bit of viewing of children's television programs or children's videos. The children are also allowed to read books or color or any other quiet activity until their parents comes to pick them "
