Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"The educational philosophy of Annapolis Area Christian School is dependent upon the Bible for providing the viewpoint for interpreting any subject or any school activity. The entire process of education is seen as a means used by God to bring students to Himself through personal faith in Christ and to develop a Christian mind in them so that they can fulfill God’s will for their lives personally and vocationally.

The mandate for Christian education comes from God’s command that children are to be taught to love God and to give Him first place in their lives and from the biblical teaching that parents are responsible for the total education of their children. Christian parents are commissioned by God to \"train up a child in the way he should go,\" and are promised that \"when he is old he will not turn from it\" (Proverbs 22:6). God says this of His commandments: \"Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up\" (Deuteronomy 6:7). The Christian school augments and continues the training begun in the Christian home.

We believe that students should be provided with an educational program that stresses basic academic skills and an appreciation of the arts to develop all the abilities God has given to each person as a uniquely created individual. We believe that students learn best by active participation in the educational process. The teacher should endeavor to teach the students according to their abilities and achievement level. All subjects are taught from the viewpoint of God’s revealed truth, with the goal of developing in students a love for learning that fully challenges their God-given abilities.
