Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

From the Director:

Our program provides a developmentally appropriate curriculum offering music, stories, creative play, art, science, drama and outdoor play. Our main goals are to provide a stable environment where children work and play, share and socialize and where God is honored and introduced as the Creator of our world. Our second goal is that the 'child' will go out from us with a special kind of excitement and enthusiasm about life and learning. Day in the Life

General School Mission

The Wellesley Baptist Christian Nursery School is a nonprofit organization sponsored by and under the direction of the Wellesley Baptist Church. As a Christian nursery school, God is honored and introduced as the Creator of our world. There are monthly Christian themes taught through stories and songs.

The goal of the school is to provide an environment conducive to the optimal spiritual, social, physical, and intellectual development of each child. We have a curriculum that is child-centered and developmentally appropriate which incorporates daily opportunities for individual as well as group activities, quiet and active play choices, imaginative play, problem-solving skills, literature and both large and small muscle activities. We believe preschool children are active learners who learn through play. Fun, hands-on learning activities and experiences are planned according to a calendar of themes and units.
