Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"Our program is designed to meet the developmental needs of children
2.9 to 5 years of age. Children learn and develop through hands on
exploration. These experiences enhance and enrich the child's
cognitive, language, social, emotional, creative and physical
development. We view children as individuals and acknowledge that
each child develops at their own pace.

Through play, children simultaneously have the opportunity to create,
explore, learn to problem solve, gain independence and develop
personal interaction skills. We offer a balance of solitary play and
group activities.

The classroom is set up to stimulate cognitive and language
development. Providing a print rich environment will encourage
children to become aware of symbols such as letters, numbers, etc.
which leads to the beginning of preprinting and reading skills.

Staff serve as positive role models and provide care that is
supportive, nurturing and responsive to the child's individual needs.
We believe that parents and teachers are partners in each child's
care and development.

The staff is also supportive in the development of positive feelings
and self-esteem. Emphasis is put on practicing skills and establishing
a positive attitude towards learning. We do not believe in "I CAN'T
DO IT." Our belief is "We need to try and with practice, we'll get it

We do not discriminate against race, religion, cultural heritage,
national origin, sexual orientation, political beliefs, marital status or
disabilities. We will maintain a non-competitive, nonjudgmental
atmosphere in which children may develop a positive image."
