From the Director:

The Open Door is a home-based, thematic program that believes young children learn best through play, social interaction with peers, hands-on activities connected to academic curriculum topics, and teacher-led instruction in small groups. The Open Door also addresses social/emotional growth through an additional curriculum component that explores feelings of selves and others.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

The mission of the Open Door School is to provide young children with high-quality enrichment experiences using a thematic, play-and project- based curriculum that promotes a love of learning, to nurture and address children’s social and emotional growth, and to foster appropriate readiness skills for future school experiences. We believe children learn best through play and social interaction with peers. They also grow emotionally through forming relationships with children and adults outside of their family.
