Home-School Connection: From the Director

Twice per year the center uses a formal evaluation tool. Teachers meet with parents as needed and for Parent/Teacher conferences. The school send home a Daily Sheet with each child every day. The sheet includes information about their day. The school distributes both a monthly calendar and newsletter. Teachers send home newsletters that pertain to their own class. There are parent information boards located in the school. We offer a new parent orientation and a parent handbook. The center uses email often to communicate with families. We are affiliated with the North Sububan Child and Family Resouce Network which provides training opportunities and resources for parents.

Separation

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation

Parent are encouraged to attend the new parent orientation prior to the start of the school year. The Director spends time going over seperation issues and strategies for parents. At the beginning of the school year the center is staffed with additional teachers to help with seperation issues. The Director is available to parents with questions or suggestions.
