Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"Our philosophy of education is based on the premise that all children should progress at their own rate. Children are placed according to their individual learning abilities not necessarily by age. All children are unique and we must discover their hidden talents and develop them. We must also enhance the areas of study that children have difficulties with and overcome them with love, understanding and encouragement. Our greatest challenge is to instill In each child a feeling of self worth, confidence and competence to be able to handle our complicated world. By accomplishing this challenge, our children will be equipped to face change and new experiences with vigor and aptitude. Our goal is to challenge each child so they maximize their learning experience and reach their full academic potential. By growing academically, emotionally and socially our children will develop into well-adjusted adults.

A Typical Day

"A typical day at Little Red School House begins with a good morning smile from the director as your child is signed in. Your child will go to their assigned spacious classroom which is fully equipped with all the toys and learning games needed for a productive day. After classes children have recess in our large fenced playground which allows free play and socialization. At 11:30 part-time students begin to leave while others may choose to stay for lunch. Following lunch, full time children may choose to nap or have quiet play in our "awake room."
Our afternoon program resumes at 3:00 p.m. following nap and features gym, story time, music, recess, art and center choice until parents arrive. We also provide teacher assisted homework assistance for students in elementary school. Only official escorts and parents may sign out a child from our school. We provide a safe and protective environment for your peace of mind until 6:00 p.m.
