Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Teacher-Led

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Each child has their own unique way of learning. With our Student Education Plan, it is designed to meet each child's needs. Each child is challenged and encouraged to try new things.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Our Preschool is different then other preschools. We are a speech and language school for children with speech and language disorders. In our school we use a Student Education Plan which meets the child's needs throughout the school year. Our class size is small for more one on one interaction with the child. Our program includes library time, music and movement, arts and crafts, and daily curriculum. I also work close with the parents to keep them updated on their child's progress and to help when it is time to start elementary school. I prepare them on what lies ahead and educate the parent on IEP's.

A Typical Day

Our mornings are filled with music, free play, circle time, library, music and movement and so much more. I work one on one with each child 2 times during our morning session.

Handling Separation: From the Director

We know that preschool is a big step for a child. Leaving their home and saying goodbye to a parent for a couple hours can be so hard. We work with the parent on different ways the child will feel comfortable during school. We have our "Beary" Special Bear Notes From Home Container. This is where parents leave a note for the child. When they have a "sad" moment, we pull the note out and read it together.
