Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"Children learn through play. Play develops the skills a child needs in order to become a fully competent individual. Bethlehem Preschool Center offers every child a learning environment designed to foster creativity, self-esteem, socialization, independence, and responsibility. Each child is encouraged to select his or her own activities and explore materials and situations as he or she is ready."

A Typical Day

"Free Play Experience
Flexible, planned interest areas: art, dramatic play, science, math/manipulation, books, blocks, media centers.
Group Experience
Stories, songs, language/circle activities, show-and-tell.
In morning/afternoon programs, we ask the parents to provide a nutritious snack. The preschool provides juice or milk. The all day program offers two snacks and a nutritious lunch, all provided by the preschool.
Outdoor Play
A large playground helps the children develop gross motor skills. We also provide bikes for indoor/outdoor use. Large muscle equipment is provided in the gym during inclement weather.
Field Trips
Field trips planned for your children may include visiting a pumpkin farm, animal farm, wildlife reserve, or other activities."
