Philosophy & Approach

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"Children are God's gift, given to parents for a short time, to nurture and provide for as precious creations. Preschool children are impressionable, still-developing individuals. We need to understand how they develop to nurture them in the most responsible and godly way. Our desire should be to educate the whole child: spiritually, physically, emotionally and intellectually.

No teaching/learning is neutral. A student becomes like his teacher. Therefore, it is imperative that our choice for our most precious and eternal heritage, our children, should be a preschool whose goals and program are Christ-centered.

Highland Christian Academy offers such a program, seeking to provide age-appropriate activities within the context of a balanced curriculum and environment. Children are given the opportunity to develop skills, attitudes and concepts compatible with the Christian worldview.

“Attitudes are caught, not taught” is an old saying that bears repeating. Your eager-to-learn child is constantly taking in information from which he will form understanding, concepts and attitudes.

The partnership of loving parents and responsible, mature Christian teachers is the catalyst to a solid foundation for your child. We would welcome the opportunity to work with your family in that cooperative relationship and together make your child's first school experience a truly positive one.
All learning activities are planned with the goal of making your child's first school experience a positive one. The class structure provides a sense of security, while the educational variety stimulates learning."
