Northbrook Community Nursery School, through the cooperation of its staff, Board of Directors, and parents, is committed to meeting the social, emotional and intellectual needs of each child. A Typical Day

On a typical day at Northbrook Community Nursery School, you would see:
• Happy and engaged children exploring their environment and playing with peers
• Nurturing teachers engaged with both individuals and groups of children
• Classrooms which are set up to be inviting to the children and enhance their skills in math, science, language, art, social studies, and literacy
• A balance of active and quiet play, as well as free play and teacher directed play
• Students gathering together for small and large group activities
• The private outdoor playground bustling with activity
• Brightly colored classrooms displaying the children’s art
• Children dictating or writing creative stories
• Quiet, comfortable reading nooks where children can cozy up to their favorite books
• Children enjoying a nutritious snack with their peers and teachers, fostering social interaction
• Children dressing up and role playing in our dramatic play and housekeeping area
