Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Montessori, Reggio-Emilia

From the Director:

We have an eclectic aprroach which embraces many different early childhood experts. Jean Piaget, Howard Gardner, Maria Montessori and the Reggio-Emilia project are just some of our leaders in this endeavor to foster your child's cognitve, social-emotional and physical needs.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

We allow our teacher's to have the freedom to teach in the style that best meets their indivual needs. This is accomplished through theme-based teaching. Therefore, a classroom that is filled with imagination and comfortable learning emerges for the children in their care.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

We believe that each child should be treated with the same respect that we ourselves would want. We endeavor to create a positive environment that creates life long learners. Our curriculum reinforces the cognitive, social and emotional needs of young children. We incorporate parent participation with numerous get-togethers or seasonal open houses.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Your infant through pre-K child will receive a daily report that clues you in on what has happened during the day. There are lesson plans posted for the parent to see what will be happening each week.
We maintain monthly anecdotal observations so that we can see the progression of your childs development.
We use a developmental tool called "The Train Of Development" developed by our Executive Director, Flora G. Geltner-Sweeney, M.Ed. which can quickly identify over 100 gaps in your child's development.

Handling Separation: From the Director

With over 100 years combined experience in helping children with separation anxiety we feel confident that we can hlep your child make the necessary transition from home to school.
