General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Teacher-Led

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Lincoln Park Preschool early childhood program takes into primary consideration the growth and well being of the child. We feel that we provide this best by having a warm, open, nurturing atmosphere that is conducive to learning at an early age. Lincoln Park Preschool also provides educated, caring, enthusiastic teachers.

Our school is a place where children ages 2-6 can develop self-confidence and build a commitment to learning. The children take part in discovery-based activities that are developmentally appropriate. Through play, children are encouraged to build upon problem solving skills, as well as, creative skills and socialization with other children.

Lincoln Park Preschool believes in a healthy balance of teacher-directed and child-directed activities, while also limiting the amount of time spent in a large group. We believe that through play, children experience the joy of discovery for themselves.

Our teachers take into account the individuality of each child. We look at the whole child and the developmental level at which she is functioning. Activities that are stimulating to the child’s imagination and creative development can then be provided. While placing emphasis on the child’s individuality, we believe that communication between the teachers and parents is a vital part of providing a quality early childhood program.

Lincoln Park Preschool is a place where a child’s happiness is out utmost concern. When a child is ready to depart LPP to continue her education, she will take with her a positive concept of school, a love for learning, and self-confidence that is crucial to any child’s learning.
